Crown Block Safety System
Model 125 Crown Block
Safety System, manufactured by Stewart & Stevenson's Petroleum Equipment
Division, is used to prevent the collision of the traveling block with the crown
block. This system senses when the traveling block is within a preset distance
of the crown block. It disengages the clutch, then simultaneously applies the
brakes to the drawworks.
This device is critical to
the safety of rig personnel.
